Our Thanksgiving Weekend

We really didn't get out much this weekend. We did a lot of cuddling on the couch and watching Christmas movies. We'll see how many years I have left of that once Cade gets older and starts voicing his opinion on what he wants to watch. I'm sure more cartoons will be in our future! Here are just a few snapshots from this weekend.

This is Cade wishing he knew how to write a letter to Santa.

He has started running laps from his bedroom to the living room. He waits for me to say "Ready, set, go" and then starts running. It's soo cute!

And I thought he was too cute trying to balance this doll santa hat on his head.

This kid is just too cute!

Cade loves playing peekaboo also.

It was a lot of fun for the two of us to spend this time together. I just wish I had felt better and of course wished Doyle could have been home with us. Right now it's raining cats and dogs and we are supposed to get a pretty bad storm. What a great day for Doyle to try and get home in. It's been beautiful out every day up until now.

Happy Thanksgiving 2008!

We had our family's Thanksgiving dinner last Sunday so that Doyle could be with us. I was pretty under the weather then so I wasn't able to go all out like I normally do. For the first time, I made our turkey in the crockpot! It turned out really well. We also had carrot-sweet potato mash, which was really the only new homemade item this year, stuffing, spinach in a butter sauce, turkey soup (because I was sick), rolls and cranberry relish. And we also had pumpkin pie as well. I tried making cranberry-pumpkin cookies but I forgot to add a few ingredients. What can I say, I didn't have much energy! :)
This was Cade before Thanksgiving dinner actually. Such a poser! He actually slept this way! Daddy took a picture of mommy and Cade both sleeping on the couch just prior to this, but let's just say mommy isn't going to post that one!
Usually I end up hanging the lights but again, I just didn't have a whole lot of energy. Good thing Cade was willing to pitch in and help! :)
I thought this was a cool picture even though it really isn't in focus.
And here Cade is wearing a hat G-Ma gave him last year for Christmas.

Again, not a clear picture but it gives you an idea as to what it looks like in the dark, all lit up.
Someone got all pooped out by the end of the night.

And here he is in his new favorite jam jam's. I actually put him down for a nap yesterday afternoon while he had his regular clothes on but he wanted to cuddle this outfit. How cute.

Just having a good time!

Cade LOVES putting things between his toes.

And here he is giving "baby sissy" a hug and kiss!

We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving Day and long weekend!

ERAU Alumni weekend in Daytona

Doyle met up with some college buddies in Daytona for alumni weekend. Here are some pictures from last weekend.
Doyle, Bill & Jim
And of course I can't not post some pics that I took of Cade over the past couple of weeks. :)

Tired baby after brushing his teeth.

Okay, that's about it for now. Have a great weekend!

Just some more cute pics and getting into the dog dish!

Cade went into his room to get a bedtime book and Doyle got this picture of him running out all excited.
Here Cade is loving to wear hats again.
He thinks he's SO cool when he wears these.
And now for the "in trouble" pics. I thought he was being too quiet in the kitchen.

I guess he thought dumping the dogs water dish all over himself sounded like a good idea at the time. Afterwards, he just wanted the wet clothes off!

And here's a time when he was playing with the dogs food dish!
And just a couple more cute hat pics.

The Alligator Farm

Last Saturday we took Cade to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine. Neither of us had been there before. I was surprised at just how many alligators they had. I couldn't even begin to count, especially in the "nature looking" areas. Crazy!

These guys definitely looked well fed.
Cade immediately started pointing at all the animals he saw.

Yes, it appears Doyle was trying to feed Cade to this alligator!

But then Cade decided he would rather ride it.

He looks so sweet and innocent here right? Just like you could eat him up?

Well, these guys thought so too!

At first we were just amazed at how all these little baby alligators came towards us. Then we realized there was a machine you get food out of to feed them. So I guess she just wait here all day getting feed by the tourists. Pretty eerie really!

They had other animals also. Here a monkey is talking to Cade. They also had a lot of very colorful birds.

They also had a little playground area.

Cade watched the gigantic turtles as we ate our lunch.
That's it for pictures at the Alligator Farm. Unfortunately, when Doyle asked me that morning if the camera battery needed charged, I should have just charged it anyway. But no, I didn't and we didn't end up getting very many pictures. I won't let that happen again!
