Happy Belated Halloween Everyone! Yesterday was a whirlwind here. We rented a Uhaul truck to bring everything back to the house that we had put in storage (due to selling the house). Doyle agreed to park the GTO in the driveway so we could unload the truck directly into the garage. Of course Cade wanted to "help dadda". So I tried to find small light weight things he could carry into the garage. So he really felt like he helped his dadda. :)

Then I dropped Kit off at PetSmart to get all groomed and ready for the drive up to Michigan. The name of the spa package is "Defurberator". How funny is that? Then I came back home and we hurried to get the kids into their Halloween costumes. I snapped just a few pictures and we headed to the neighbors to show them off. It was so hot out last night. So I just took Dylan to one neighbors house and then back home. She was just too hot in her costume. So she stayed home with Dadda while Cade and I went trick-or-treating.
Cade was very particular about which house he would actually go up too. He definitely didn't want to have anything to do with houses that had scary decorations up or even decorative lights outside. He stuck with the plain old front door light on. He was too funny! I would knock on the door and he would say "trick-or-treat" but that was before any one had time to open the door. Then all he would do was just stand there and not say a word! I would say thank you and happy Halloween and when we turned to walkaway and they would close their door, Cade would then blurt out "Happy Halloween!" He was too funny! One guy was really loud and outrageous and I thought for sure Cade was going to lose it but he just ended up laughing and smiling. Still wouldn't say anything but at least he acknowledged someone was talking to him. After maybe hitting 10 houses Cade was pretty exhausted. He said he wanted to go see his Dadda. So home we went.
Doyle then went to pick Kit up. He had been at the groomers for almost 4 hours. He came home all shiny and clean! It seriously looked like he had dropped about 20 pounds... 20 pounds of hair that is! So this morning I dropped both Doyle and Kit off at the airport. Doyle had to go to work and I thought it would just be easier on everyone involved (which is me) if Kit just stayed at the kennel for the next week until we are ready to drive out of here. Normally when he's outside all day when I'm at work, he likes to dig a hole and lay in the dirt. So since I just had him bathed and all freshened up, there was no way I was going to let him spend one more minute in the backyard.
The plan for the rest of the week is to pack mine and the kids luggage for the trip. That way when the packers come on Thursday, they can pack whatever is left to put in the truck. I'm sure I'm not going to have much time during the week so I want to get as much done today as possible. So the packers come on Thursday and the truck comes on Friday to load all the boxes. Doyle is now scheduled to get home Saturday evening. So the plan is supposed to be that I pick Kit up then Doyle and then we head straight to the Uhaul place to pick up the 4x8 trailer that we will tow behind us. That will have all our luggage and everything else that we need that won't fit in the Acadia with us. Plus we will take everything else that the moving company won't haul (cleaning supplies, shampoo, wine, etc.) Plus I'll have one whole cooler just for Dylan's frozen milk supply. Hopefully we can keep that frozen the entire time.
The kids and I just finished watching the Jags game... sorry to say the least! Leave it to the Jags to lose to a team that hasn't won a game all year. So typical for the Jags! Ugh!!! Oh well, hope everyone enjoys the next week!

The Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival

Last Saturday we finally made it to pick out pumpkins with the kids! Cade loved it. Here are a few pictures from the pumpkin patch!

Cade looked for a pumpkin like he was a boy on a mission!

He was so sweet!

And of course so is she!

This is my favorite picture of Dylan that day.

Okay, so not all of the pumpkins were what I would call asthetically pleasing to the eye! Ha!!!

Doyle always finds the perfect one.

And this is my favorite picture of Cade this day.

These kids just don't do "posed" very well.

And yes, Cade was actually afraid of the scary spider beside him!

Next to the pumpkin patch was a fall festival.

And Cade went on his first pony ride!

He also dug in the hay to find a prize.

He did a good job of "fishing" for ducks too!

We had to walk back up to the Chik-fil-A cow but once we got up there, Cade didn't have anything to say. Ha!!!

This picture was from an outting with my friends at work. We went to Dave & Busters and everyone brought their families. We know Cade is going to love this place when he gets a little older!

Here is Dylan on her 8th month birthday!

And here is Cade after drinking Doyle's homemade fruit smoothie. Needless to say, Cade is a fan! :)

That's all for now. I know, I go what a month with no posts and now 2 in the same weekend? Crazy... I know! The next one probably won't be until after Halloween night

"Busy" doesn't even describe just how busy I've been!

We have been out of our minds busy this past month! What with getting everything ready to move and putting our house on the market, it's been a real ZOO around here! Just to catch everyone up, we close on our new house in Michigan on November 12th. Our house here in Jacksonville is still on the market. We've had quite a few people come through but no one has taken a bite yet. But it just takes one person right?! Anyway, I'm sure someone will come along that wants it.

So anyway, here are some pictures we took the past month or so. We did take the kids to pick out pumpkins last weekend but I still need to download those pictures and edit them before posting them here. I hope to get that all updated this weekend too. So check back again! :)

Cade came out of our bathroom and showed me he had found his "boo boo band aids". He was all smiles until he finally wanted to take them off (about an hour later) and realized putting them so close to his hair wasn't such a great idea after all...

Here he is being a little monkey.

Why do kids always seem to have dirty faces!?!

These two really are two peas in a pod! I have no idea what they were doing here but doesn't it look like he's dot Dylan swimming? Ha!
After bath time...

This one is for Grandma... we know how she likes cloth in the mouth!

And here Cade is just giving his beauty pose.

Doyle wasn't home for my birthday but he wanted to make me a birthday cake when he did get home. For the most part I kept out the kitchen while he was making it. But I think I went in there to get some water and saw this. I just HAD to take a picture! I thought it was more than hilarious that he was using that dish to mix the cake batter in! Ha! Too funny! Love you honey! That cake turned out really awesome!

Here Cade is reading a book to Dylan. He loves to play with his sissy, that's for sure.

And he loves to help feed her! Not sure why he thought he needed to have his hand on her head in order to give her a bottle though! Ha!

And here is our pretty little girl!

See! I wasn't kidding! He loves reading to her!
Okay, that's it for now. Pretty good timing. Sounds like Dylan just filled her diaper so I better get her cleaned up before it becomes too big of a mess. Cade won't be too happy that I'm getting up though. He's laying down here on the couch beside me. He's found it difficult to hold his hand in my arm pit while he's laying down. So now he's figured out that he can put his feet in there instead and apparently that's just as good! For those of you wondering what the deal with the armpit is to begin with... all I can say is I have no idea how it got started. One day he just started wanting to put his hand there as sort of a comfort tool. He prefers to have it there when he's trying to go to sleep, etc.
Anyway, really gotta go! Don't forget to check back for the pumpkin pictures!

Pictures from our trip to Michigan

I was finally able to get these pictures to upload. Enjoy! And make sure you read the "surprise surprise" blog post first if you haven't already read it.
Okay, so this is downtown Birmingham... the flower lined streets are so cute! We will be living in Troy which his only a few miles away.

Seriously... how gorgeous are these flowers?!!

This was on a Friday afternoon.
We were out driving around in our rental after the realtor dropped us off.

The weather wasn't the nicest or we would have gotten out and walked.

Really cute huh? Florida never looked like this!

Needless to say, the shopping is going to be fabulous!

Then Saturday we took the kids to a park in Southfield, which is where my office will be.

This was a huge barnyard theme park. I didn't catch the name of it.

Each area had a sign saying how old the children should be to play on it.

Saturday was much nicer than the other days we had been there. Diane also came to watch the kids so that we could drive around with the realtor. Thanks again Diane!

Cade had a blast and was happy to get our of the hotel room for a change.

He loved this. It really was a neat park.

He had Doyle running all over the park!

Here they are going down the slide together! I went down it with him too. What an experience! It had rollers on it. So the sensation was very different than a regular smooth slide!

This is the building where my office will be. It's a pretty big campus. So my actual office may be in a building behind this one. But you get the jist of what it will look like.

Okay, that's it for now! There will be a ton more pics once we get there. I'll keep everyone updated!
