Sorry! I definitely didn't mean to go quite so long without a post! A few weeks ago the whole family got sick! I had a severe cold and my bronchitus came back again and worse. Then Doyle got the cold and Cade too. Cade bounced back from the cold much quicker than we did, but then the teething started and this time it was really bad. The top 4 were trying to come in at the same time! He pretty much just cried and cried and cried. Eventually, 3 of them came through. The fourth is just now appearing. So soon he'll have 6 teeth!
When I dropped Cade off at daycare this morning, they gave me a list of things to be aware of that Cade will need to be able to do before he can graduate into the toddler room. First, he has to wear shoes. Cade doesn't really like wearing shoes, so this will take some time getting used to. Second, he has to drink out of sippie cups only... no more bottles. This I think we just need to start him on cold turkey. Eventually he'll get thirsty enough and will take the sippie cup. And third, he has to be able to feed himself!! They said they would only feed him if it was something really messy like spaghetti. This is the one that we are really going to have to work on. We've pretty much just been speeding through meals with canned baby food. Which he's up to eating 4 jars a day now! This kid can really put the food away! Not to mention, after he's finished eating and seems content, I make my dinner. Only Cade points to it and wants some anyway, even though he just finished eating his own! I can see the writing on the wall already... he's going to eat us out of house and home! :)
Oh yes, Doyle keeps reminding me that I need to let everyone know that we (I) did not send out Christmas cards this year. What with all the traveling we did, I just didn't find the time to sit down and do it. Then I told Doyle I had this great intention of sending out "Happy New Year's" cards... well, I obviously didn't do that either! However, do keep in mind that I told Doyle if "he" wanted Christmas cards to go out so badly, then he could do it this year. Well, apparently he didn't want them to go out that badly because he didn't do it either! Maybe I'll surprise everyone and try and pick another holiday to send a card out for. We'll see! :)
The latest and greatest news we have regarding Cade is that he is finally sleeping in his own room all night by himself!! We started this right before the whole family got sick. Then because Cade kept having a fever at night we kept him back in our room. Then once he wasn't having fevers anymore, he went back into his room. He has done SO well with hit too! The rule is that once his bedroom door is shut, it doesn't open back up until the morning. I think he's realized this too. If he cries at all, it's for maybe 2 to 10 seconds (usually) and that's it! Even in the morning I'll hear him talking or moving around, but he doesn't cry bloody murder at all. He knows I'll come get him when it's time. So we've really been enjoying this!
Again, sorry for the infrequent postings! It does seem like every once in a while I get in a rut and don't made any posts for awhile. Then once I start back I post like crazy. We'll see if that rings true this time! We did go to a beautiful friends wedding in Tampa over last weekend and I still need to upload those pics to the computer. So as soon as I do that, you'll get to see and hear how that went. We really had a great time!
