Our Christmas morning!

Okay, better late than never right?? We've been busy to say the least. The quick recap is that Doyle's family came into town and then I pretty much got sick. I still have a cough but it's SO much better now. I also was having some sort of allergic reaction to one of the medications I was taking. Solantic diagnosed me with bronchitis (which I've never had before) and pink eye - yet once again. This is like the third time I've had pink eye since Cade was born! I'm thinking he is a carrier because I'm the only one that ever comes down with it at our house. But I digress... let me get back to our Christmas morning!

Doyle had to go to work that Sunday morning before Christmas. Actually, he got his schedule the day before and it said to report to Jax airport at 4pm. So Cade and I dropped him off at that time and came home. Doyle's captain flew into Jax and they rented a car and were sent to the Hilton in St. Augustine! That certainly has never happened before. Oh yes, if I hadn't mentioned before, Doyle is based out of Jax, so no more driving to West Palm... yeah!!!

So Doyle ends up spending the night in St. Augustine. Monday's schedule has them spending the day "on duty at the hotel". So Cade and I head down there to spend the day with him. While we are eating lunch, Doyle and his captain (who came to lunch with us) received their schedules for the next day, which was Christmas Day. It said 1pm show at the St. Augustine airport. Woohoo!! So we went sightseeing a little bit down there and then brought Doyle home with us! So we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning all together at our house! Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

Cade really didn't get the whole Christmas thing this year but I'm sure next year will be different. The really exciting part for me was that when we dropped Doyle off at the airport in St. Augustine, we got to go out and walk through his plane!! I really never thought I would ever get to see the plane that he flew, only because he has always airlined to get to his plane. We literally just all walked through the lobby together and onto the tarmac. Doyle did ask the guy behind the desk if it was okay if we came out with him. Here are some pictures from the plane!

After Cade and I left Doyle at the plane, we went on home and enjoyed the rest of the day together. I had to go to work the next day. So Doyle really didn't miss that much even though he was being paid to work. :)
We hope you enjoyed your Christmas as well!
