Pictures from our trip to Michigan
I was finally able to get these pictures to upload. Enjoy! And make sure you read the "surprise surprise" blog post first if you haven't already read it.
Okay, so this is downtown Birmingham... the flower lined streets are so cute! We will be living in Troy which his only a few miles away.
Seriously... how gorgeous are these flowers?!!
This was on a Friday afternoon.
We were out driving around in our rental after the realtor dropped us off.
The weather wasn't the nicest or we would have gotten out and walked.
Really cute huh? Florida never looked like this!
Needless to say, the shopping is going to be fabulous!
Then Saturday we took the kids to a park in Southfield, which is where my office will be.
This was a huge barnyard theme park. I didn't catch the name of it.
Each area had a sign saying how old the children should be to play on it.
Saturday was much nicer than the other days we had been there. Diane also came to watch the kids so that we could drive around with the realtor. Thanks again Diane!

Surprise... surprise... we are moving!!!
Sorry for no posts in these past few weeks! Needless to say, we have been extremely busy! I've accepted a really big promotion at my company (Vice President of Finance) for the newly formed division of the companies we acquired back in July. My new position is effective November 2nd and the following week we will be all packed up and moving to Troy, Michigan!!!
Sorry I've had to keep this a secret for such a long time. I was actually approached about this in July but until we (Doyle and I) had officially decided it was something we would consider... and the newly acquired companies were told and my employees here... it was all hush-hush. But now all of those people know so I can finally spill the beans!
I have lived in Florida for 6 years now which is the longest I've lived in any state besides Indiana (the first 20 years of my life). Doyle is also used to moving around. He hasn't lived in any one state for this long either. When I first asked Doyle if he would consider leaving Florida he said "a change of scenery would be good"! So we weighed all the pros and cons of accepting the position and apparently... the pros won! It doesn't hurt that we'll be so much closer to both of our families. I personally am looking forward to never spending another holiday alone. The kids are always with me of course, but you know what I mean.
The whole family flew up to Michigan at the end of August to check the place out. We went into thinking we were going to like a certain area but once we saw Troy, we knew we had to live there. Birmingham is just a few miles away and is so cute. Not to mention the shopping in Troy as well as the schools are beyond outstanding. Once we got back from the trip and I officially accepted the position, we seriously started looking for houses. And low and behold... we found one! We are just at the end of the inspection period with it. By Monday everything should be finalized. We are so excited!
I've been trying for about 30 minutes now to attach pictures but keep getting errors. So I'll go ahead and post this then update with pictures another time.
I'll keep updating as progress comes along! :)

new camera pics
These are some random shots taken with my new camera. There are quite a few settings to choose from. So some of the pictures turned out better than others. It'll just take some time to figure them all out. :)
the girl
And this one was just too freaking cute not to take! I'm sure he'll love me for it when he's older!
Not sure if you can tell, but the clarity on his face is amazing on this one. Just need to figure out the setting I used to take it! :)
Stretch.... what a hard life!
Oh the joys of sleeping in she says...
Cade's favorite past time while I unload groceries.

The color on this one didn't turn out right.
Notice the toothbrush in Cade's hand... almost bedtime!
Okay, that was it for now. Just wanted to post some quick pics since it's been a little while. I finally broke down yesterday and bought a double stroller. Cade loves it because he can sit right next to his sister. Gotta go, Cade is having a meltdown. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
